You Should Know, We Have A Past. And We’re Proud Of It.

For a business, any business, time is the best indicator of success…The duration of time that a  business has been open and operating successfully. In 1993, we opened our doors with little more than our talent and an abundance of enthusiasm for designing interiors for the people and businesses of the Tampa Bay Area.

We’re now celebrating that opening thirty years later. We’re bigger, better and more enthusiastic than ever. So if you’ve come to this website considering Decker Ross Interiors for your residence or business, please look at our past. And some of the recognition we’ve received. We hope it will reinforce your confidence in our ability to deliver an interior that inspires you every day. One you will pridefully show your friends and refer them to us when they have the need.

Teamwork Makes Your Dream Work.

In our business, even the best designs can be enhanced when shared among a team of individually creative people, each with their own style, taste and experience. Our brilliantly diverse design team is ready to go to work interacting, designing and installing an interior for your home or office. One that is functionally beautiful, dramatic and tasteful. Just as you dreamed it.

Members Of Our Team

Suzan Decker Ross, ASID - Designer/CEO

Design talent and business acumen don’t always fit together nicely in the same package. Suzan Decker Ross is testament to the fact that they can. Under her guidance as CEO, Decker Ross has grown and prospered in a highly competitive business for 30 years. Her creative bonafides include many prestigious design awards and she was the lead designer on HGTV’s Designer’s Challenge.

Suzan was featured on News Channel 8 as the Design Guru and hosted home design segments on the “Daytime” program. With her talent, and resources she is one of the most sought after designers in the Tampa Bay Area.

Marci Tempesta, Senior Designer, Chief Operating Officer

If it hadn’t been for Marci’s passion for interior design, she might have ended up on stage somewhere. Her lively theatre and dance training still shows up frequently during presentations. You can expect to be entertained anytime Marci is in the room.

When Marci takes on something, she won’t quit until she’s mastered it. Her Master of Science in Interior Design is proof positive. On her way to that distinction, Marci graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida State University. There her designs were showcased in the Department of Interior Design’s gallery shows.

Marci strives to create unique designs tailored to each client’s individual taste. Her exceptional creative skills have been featured in Florida Design Magazine. And her Model Carriage Home project won in the Tampa Bay Parade of Homes 1.3 million dollar category. She was also heavily involved in the design of lobbies, models and client units at Belleview Place in Belleair.

Jill Fuller, Interior Designer

With twenty-five years experience and a design pedigree to recommend her, Jill Fuller could have had her pick of design firms to settle into. But the daughter of noted Bay Area designer, Joyce Fuller, chose Decker Ross Interiors as her new home when her mother decided to retire and close Clearwater’s respected Joyce Fuller Interiors.

Jill earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the highly regarded International Academy of Design in Tampa. We welcomed Jill onto the Decker Ross team and have high regard for the history of design in the Bay Area which she represents.

Katie O’Neil, Design Project Manager

We don’t know for sure, but Katie O’Neil may have worked in her PJ’s for the first couple of months at Decker Ross Interiors. She came on board just before the Covid pandemic shut down Florida businesses and was forced to work from home.

Katie and Senior Designer, Marci Tempesta remained productive by designing remotely for nearly two months. On their return, we would have given them big pats on the back, for their outstanding work, but couldn’t get closer than six feet. Katie doesn’t stay in one place long enough for pats on the back anyway. Since the reopening of the office, she’s been busy with one installation after another.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from Florida State University was Katie’s first stop on the path to interior design. That was followed by design related work experience in a high end furniture retailer’s design department. Then a stint at a hospitality architectural firm and a granite and remodeling business. Her strong and varied background is proving to be a real asset to the Decker Ross Team.

Deborah Luna Trimpe—Interior Designer ASID, PMI, NAHB

Luna is Latin for moon, and if the Luna in Deborah’s name is reflective of her personality, it would be the moon at its fullest and brightest. Deborah Luna Trimpe virtually lights up the room when presenting her design ideas.

Deborah was born in Guatemala but spent most of her early years in Europe before moving to Chicago where she earned her BA Degree from the Harrington College of Design. After six years in high end luxury developments and new construction, it was on to Northwestern University to study Construction Management for Professionals.

Deborah will tell you, “The unique combination of my design experience and construction management has taught me that budget, time and function are as important as the overall design.”

Deborah adds a great deal to the fabric of Decker Ross Interiors, having been exposed to many locations, cultures and experiences while supporting her husband’s military career. She is happy to finally be settled in Clearwater, with her husband and two children.

Tammy Munsey, Interior Designer

Tammy Munsey has come a long way in her interior design career. Over three thousand miles, in fact. From Seattle, Washington to Clearwater Florida. A journey that includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from Cornish College of the Arts; staging homes and designing interiors for new constructions and remodels; opening and operating a vintage furniture store; and serving as design coordinator for the prestigious Belleview Place project in Belleair.

Oh, and did we mention mothering two boys along the way?

So there isn’t much Tammy can’t tell you about interior design, parenting, or US geography. As she puts it, “My passion for interiors stems from the meaning of ‘home’ and how this is unique to everyone. My design inspirations come from travel, nature and combining textures that are eclectic and surprising.”

Brooke Fanslow, Marketing Director

Marketing in today’s world is not a job for the weak of heart. Social media especially can be a cruel and brutal arena. So when we went looking for a Marketing Director, we searched for someone with the required communication skills, but also one who was physically and mentally fit. And at the same time charming and fun to be around. That describes Brooke Fanslow from her radiant smile to her cross trainer Nikes. On top of that, the name Fanslow is German, denoting a strong and stern character.

Brooke is from Chicago and received her Bachelor’s Degree from DePaul University. Since then, she has worked full time in the health/fitness industry developing a group of clients who were loyal and loving of her whit and wisdom.

Although our current and past clients keep us busy with their referrals, we know better than to rest on our laurels. Brooke will help us maintain an active presence in the market. And as she put it… “Represent the high standards for which Decker Ross Interiors is known.”

Walter—Designerdoodle

Our newest addition to the Decker Ross Interiors design team came aboard in January 2022.  In keeping with the trend of one-name celebs…Eminem, Bono, Lassie…he goes by Walter. Just Walter.

Eight weeks old when he came to us, Walter is bright, playful and always up for a biscuit or two. Much like the rest of our team. But less talkative. More of a tail-wagger.

Technically, Walter is a Bernedoodle. A blend of Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle. We prefer to think of him as a Designedoodle. A one-of-a-kind breed with a keen eye for the perfect sofa or loveseat. Which he has learned, he is not allowed to sleep on.

Walter is our in-house reminder that at Decker Ross Interiors, we design for people.  With everything those people love surrounding them.
