Mandalay Beach Club
Designers: Jen Kravchuk and Marci Tempesta
Decker Ross Interiors’ talented lead designers, Jen Kravchuk and Marci Tempesta, joined creative forces to freshen up the dated tropical décor for the residents of Mandalay Beach Club. The new clean line coastal design features a soothing light and airy color palette of neutral “sand” tones with pops of soft aqua and sea glass. They utilized multiple wood tones including dark “espresso” rattan, light driftwood, and live edge wood finishes. Smooth hard surfaces are balanced with natural accents and a variety of designer fabrics, providing visual interest and textural contrast.
This conversational seating area features an ivory sofa with nail head trim and two espresso rattan chairs with contrasting coral fabric on the backs, all accentuated with designer pillows. Finishing touches include a lovely orchid in a capiz shell vase, framed abstract art reminiscent of soothing dripping water, anchored by a tall yucca tree in the corner.
A circular grouping of sand tone lounge chairs surrounds a beautiful round marble cocktail table with a custom silk floral centerpiece, creating the perfect spot for a cup of coffee and quiet conversation. For the ceiling lighting, the designers selected elegant recycled glass fixtures, which can be seen in this view.
This gallery wall consists of a customized grouping of framed coral art prints in shades of ocean inspired blues and green. It compliments the tidal swirl pillows on the sand tone chairs in the foreground.
Jen and Marci display their design knowledge and expertise through the use of finishing accents and attention to detail. A matte teal fan coral sculpture and the beautiful shoreline art canvas of surf and clouds provide the perfect artistic touch for this beachfront location. Note the ceiling molding detail and the “peak” of contrasting spa blue paint in the adjacent hallway.
Soft blue lounge chairs with nail head trim and dark espresso frames along with a neutral sofa offer a comfortable, cozy gathering place for a business discussion or quiet chat. The contrasting white driftwood two drawer cocktail table with stylized double “X” bronze metal base and custom succulent centerpiece in a shell vessel complete this seating group. A spa blue accent wall, tall, tropical banana leaf tree and mother of pearl lamp with rectangular linen shade provide additional creative interest to this area.
